When will we begin to realize that all the best things in life are those we consider least?
And what a time we live in to actively have to fight for what’s true and good. In ancient times culture and tradition used to guide us on virtues, and now, it appears as though we must carve our own and take back our values from those that sold their souls for money.
How much are we willing to prostitute our spirits for material gains? I, for one, have reached a breaking point.
Think of the last time you did something out of pure intrinsic motivation, just you wanted to do it. How good did that feel? When we prostitute our minds, our minds lose respect for our selves. And once disgusted with our own actions there is no holding back the inevitable abyss.
So, I will surrender to life, love, and the priceless joy of work for work’s sake, writing for writing’s sake, and piece my soul back together.
Won’t you do the same?
