Summer of Love

Summer of Love
How we swayed and swooned
over sun-drenched beaches
and grass-green meadows
running, almost flying
at the speed of the wind
into each other’s arms…

Beauty, beautiful hair
and summer dresses
too kind for this world
too strict with herself
our souls met
with great thunder in the sky
unleashed
the summer tempest

Why are you gone, my dear?
Gone and yet so near
It’s like you’re still here
your love, your scent, your touch
and when I rest my tired head
into your loving embrace
I must be dreaming
I must be… gone
